How do you volunteer?

GOMPS relies on on its devoted volunteers to keep the nursery up and running. We'd love to hear from all interested volunteers ages 14+.

We ask that all new volunteers fill out a Volunteer Application Form.

If you are interested in volunteering with the Garry Oak Nursery please contact:

What's it like to volunteer?

Volunteering at the Garry Oak Nursery is a fun opportunity to meet like minded people, learn about Garry oaks and associated ecosystems and give back to your community!

Nursery activities vary seasonally and include planting acorns, re-potting seedlings into larger pots, and weeding, mulching, and fertilizing seedlings as needed. Training, gloves, tools and refreshments are provided.

Weather appropriate clothing and good work boots are recommended - don't forget sun protection!

For convenience, there is now a proper toilet (porta-potty type) on the premises.
